I stayed on with the company for 10 years as regional Director delivering many exciting and interesting water related projects basically ensuring the constant supply of water for five major Water companies in the UK.
In June 2016 after over 30 years in the water Utility business I decided that I would retire and spend time with my family, take some well needed holidays and do everything that I never had time to do. I am married to my lovely wife Helena and have two fantastic children. As a family we enjoy the beautiful countryside that surrounds us by walking and biking and in the winter we like to go skiing.

Executive Principal and Chief Executive Officer
In addition to being a trustee, I am presently the Executive Principal of The Moorlands Primary Federation (TMPF) Multi-Academy Trust (MAT).I have been working within our trust of schools since 2007 when joining St. Werburgh’s C.E. Primary as Headteacher. During this time, I have been fortunate enough to work with so many amazing children and seen great changes in education and across the Staffordshire Moorlands. In September 2012 I changed role to become an Executive Headteacher across St. Werburgh’s C.E. Primary and Dilhorne Endowed C.E. Primary; this then extended to The Valley Primary in 2013, becoming TMPF. The three schools converted to academies in September 2016 and I led TMPF in becoming a MAT. In January 2015 I was seconded to also lead Great Wood Primary and in September 2016, this role incorporated Bishop Rawle C.E. Primary. In September 2017 the two schools formally joined TMPF. In June 2018, I was honoured to be accredited as a National Leader of Education (NLE).

I spent my childhood within the local area but moved to Kingsley around 7 years ago following the arrival of my first child. Having worked as a qualified teacher within Staffordshire for the last 18 years, I have a strong interest in all aspects of education. I am particularly interested in ensuring all children have a wide range of opportunities available to them, to allow them to excel and have successful futures.
I currently have the privilege of being Vice Principal of a secondary school within Newcastle under Lyme which is part of a small academy trust. My main responsibility lies within quality of education; however, I have previously enjoyed roles within pupil welfare and behaviour.
Outside of work I enjoy exercise and spending time with my immediate and extended family. I have two sons who attend St Werburgh’s in Kingsley.
Originally, I joined St. Werburgh’s C.E. Primary as a class teacher and Assistant Headteacher. Since then, I have been part of The Moorlands Primary Federation’s (TMPF) leadership from the time it was created, and during its journey from Collaboration, to Federation, to Multi Academy Trust.
I hold the National Professional Qualification for Headteachers (NPQH); have worked as Associate Headteacher across the family of schools; and was seconded to lead, alongside Jared Eccles, Great Wood Primary prior to this school’s joining of TMPF. Currently, as Principal I am fortunate to be able to work with the leadership team, staff, and many amazing children across each of the schools in the Trust.
Working in association with the Diocese and celebrating the Christian ethos in our faith schools is important to me as a leader and Trustee. I am very keen on sport and the opportunities and enjoyment this can bring to children and adults alike.
In an advisory capacity, I have attended and advised Trust Board meetings and Committee Meetings since The Moorlands Primary Federation was formed. I was appointed as a Staff Trustee in December 2020.
