Farm School

TMPF Trust are very proud to be able offer Farm School provision here at Dilhorne Endowed C.E. Primary School.

Our Farm School allows the children to learn how to look after animals, to develop their skills in R.E., Maths, Science, English and Art, and to understand the importance of being responsible. On-site, we look after goats, chickens, pigs, sheep and guinea pigs. Our pupils look after the animals by feeding, cleaning, mucking out, ensuring that any health concerns are reported to staff and checking that we have sufficient food.

The farm school is an important part of the curriculum and children benefit from the opportunity to be still, to be present and to share the wonder of God’s animals which follows our school vision of ‘Love one another, love the world’.

Forest School

TMPF Trust are very proud to be able offer Forest School provision for pupils here at Dilhorne Endowed C.E. Primary School.

Forest School sessions offer children enriching, hands on learning experiences in a natural setting. Through exploration, creative activities, and practical skills, pupils develop confidence, independence, and resilience. Nature becomes a classroom where children problem solve, collaborate, and discover their own strengths.

Wellbeing is central to our approach. Time outdoors reduces stress, boosts mood, and supports emotional regulation. Activities such as den building, tool use, team challenges, and nature crafts help children build friendships, communicate effectively, and enjoy the calming benefits of the natural world.

Environmental awareness is woven through every session. Children learn about local wildlife, habitats, and seasonal changes, developing respect and responsibility for the environment. By practising sustainable behaviours, they begin to understand their role in protecting the planet.

Led by trained staff, sessions are safe, supportive, and encourage appropriate risk taking. Our Forest School nurtures confident, caring, and environmentally aware learners. Our Forest School sessions are led by Mrs J. Carnall at our sister school, The Valley, and sometimes here on our school site.
