Values, Vision & Ethos
Our vision is to provide a safe and caring Christian community rooted in Christ’s love. We believe that happy children achieve, succeed and overcome life’s challenges. We value everyone as a child of God and believe that each one of us has the ability to achieve our highest potential by living and learning in the fullness of God.
At Ilam C.E. Primary School we believe that a happy child is an achieving child. We aim to ensure that all pupils strive to achieve and pursue their dreams within a caring, supportive and positive environment. Our vision teaches us as staff, pupils, guardians and community members that through God we can achieve all things. As Christians we believe in life in its fullness, that we are valued and important to God, as he is to us. That through this outlook on life we can follow God to strive to be the best that we can be. This is further demonstrated in our school vision.
Our School Values
Here at Ilam C.E. Primary School, our values were chosen by our school community:
Caring;
Courageous;
Forgiving;
Respectful;
Resilient.
It is our aim to create a happy, safe and stimulating environment. We welcome and encourage the involvement of parents, carers, Trustees and members of our local community. In working together we promote learning and develop a sense of belonging for all.
It is our intention to guide children in the development of positive attitudes towards learning and to help them to flourish by:
Communicating clearly and confidently-to read, write, listen, understand, question, respond and report.
Offering a variety of learning styles and situations, so children may learn through investigation, trial and experimentation.
Providing for the acquisition of knowledge through investigation and creative study.
Developing a delight in working with numbers, so promoting skills in calculating, problem solving and applying mathematical concepts to everyday life.
Using technological equipment with confidence.
Promoting aesthetic development and appreciation by stimulation of imaginative and creative activities – music, dance, writing, drama, art, craft and design.
Developing physical skills and understanding the need for a healthy life.
Promoting investigation into Christianity and an awareness and appreciation of other religions.
It is our aim to help children develop their confidence, but also to be self-critical and to take increasing responsibility for their own learning.
Our Trust Values
TMPF Trust have a series of values which are shared across the family of schools and are inspired by the teaching of Christ:
Trust
Trust lies at the heart of all relationships. By trusting in God we ourselves become trustworthy just as He is.
Psalm 20:7
'Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.'
Mindful
Being mindful of others leads to a heart of compassion; compassion leads to a desire to act for the good of all.
Peter 3:8
'Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers and sisters, be compassionate and humble.'
Peace
Peace and harmony lead to a stable and secure community where all are nurtured and can flourish.
Matthew 5:19
'Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the children of God.'
Friendship
Barriers are broken down in a loving, friendly community based around God.
Ecclesiastes 4:10
‘If one falls down, a friend can lift him up.'
