It is really important that children attend school every day and arrive on time.

Any absences must be reported to school no later than 9.30am on the first day of absence. School regularly monitor attendance and punctuality. The Local Authority’s Education Welfare team also have access to school registers. Schools cannot authorise any leave of absence unless in exceptional circumstances.

School dinners

School dinners currently cost £3.00 per day (as of April 2025) for a main meal and a dessert. The cost of these nutritious meals should be paid for the week in advance via the school’s Arbor system.

Children in Reception, and Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2) are entitled to a free school meal each day through the Infant Free School Meal initiative.

Parents/ carers of ANY child from Reception to Year 6 (including those who receive infant free school meals) can apply for free school meals and with this, also benefit from additional Pupil Premium funding to support your child’s education. To see if your child is eligible for this support which is based upon parental income, please visit here https://www.staffordshire.gov.uk/schools-and-learning/financial-support-school/free-school-meals or speak to the school office. Children are unaware if others in the class are in receipt of free school meals.

Meals are provided by an organisation called Edwards and Ward. Special themed menus and celebrations happen at different points throughout the year to replace the planned menu. Please be aware that the menu is subject to change at very short notice.

It is essential that parents / carers inform school AND the school kitchen immediately of any allergies or intolerances which you child may have.
