Magical Christmas Tour

In December our KS2 children were given an amazing opportunity for a magical trip to Harry Potter World. On 1st December, they all boarded the ‘Day Bus’, which transported them to a fantasy world that transcends muggles.

They enjoyed an out of this world trip into the making of Harry Potter. They experienced flying on broom, a visit to the Hogwarts’ Express, a ride in the iconic Ford Anglia and saw how props were made and used. They had a costume workshop, where they saw the actual costumes from the films and got to design their own costumes.

We would like to thank our amazing PTFA for providing the transport for this fantastic trip.

A magical and sensational day was had by all, which culminated in a visit to the Harry Potter shop. There were lots of carrier bags crammed into the ‘Night Bus’ on the way back.

Dingle Dangle Singing

Dingle Dangle Singing

Our amazing Great Wood Children made us extremely proud again on Friday.  They once again embraced our new-look events, by dressing in their best Autumn colours, for a small donation for Tean and Checkley OAP’s.  This money is donated to enhance Christmas celebrations for the organisation.

In addition our children donned their best singing voices.  KS1 performed outside their classrooms and KS2 at the front of the school building, to entertain everyone with their singing.  It was fantastic to see parents, families and friends enjoying watching the children performing live. They heard Conkers, Big Red Combine Harvester, Dingle Dangle Scarecrow and more.

As is our Great Wood tradition, buckets were rattled at the crowd, to enhance our contribution to the Tean & Checkley OAP's Association.

Thank you to our children, parents, staff and audience, you are all stars.
